No colour too bright, no composition too abstract, and no scale too overwhelming. This fascination with the blatant, linear, and refreshing perception of children continues to inspire artists from all generations to adapt to this ingenuous way of perceiving, manifesting movements such as Naïve Art and Primitivism within the language of image-making. Naïve Art’s most apparent attributes in painting are recognized as having false portrayal in size, colour, and detail, that are erroneously distributed without attention to distance. Often resembling children’s drawings look, these paintings are stripped off of its institutionalized associations and technical importance.

This exhibition is a tribute to the way art is seen through the eyes of a child. Formal qualities of paintings are replaced with spontaneity and rudimental gestures, therefore stimulating intellectual responses from both children and adults alike.
